This lacewing has obviously hibernated in our house over winter and has come out a little early. They are usually green but in the winter turn a pinky brown (this one doesn't look very pink to me). A female lacewing lays up to 300 eggs and each developing larva eats between 1,000 and 10,000 aphids in its lifetime. I think this one will be transported via the red carpet to spend the rest of its days in the greenhouse!
