Wren / Troglodytes troglodytes (if you prefer the Latin name)

Went to sit in the Janet Kear hide (Martin Mere) for an hour this afternoon. I was just about to leave having no decent photos when a Wren landed right by me, that really made my day!!!!

At first he was a little camera shy -

but then slowly but surely he turned around to pose for me -

and then it was off back to the nest but at least I had some photos at last.

Welcome Committee at Martin Mere

What a welcome everyone received on Saturday when they entered Martin Mere. With some help from PSE I have increased it a little!!!!!

At the last count there were 9 Flamingo chicks and one egg still to hatch. Not very easy to get decent photos this year due to the building work at the back, hence the blue sheet in the background.

May - around the garden

We have a lot of apple blossom this year so hopefully we will have a good crop if the birds and wasps leave them alone.

Although we feed the wild birds we only seem to attract LBJ's as they are commonly called. I just wonder if these two have anything to do with that!!
