M6 through Shevington and Jess - the best cat in the world.

After a few attempts I managed this one but unfortunately I was lacking in both my mentor and some traffic - well it was quite late on a Sunday evening and my mentor was presumably somewhere at the other end of this m'way and I don't know what had happened to the traffic.

At last I saw a bunch of traffic, legged it to the other side of the road, and hey presto - -

This is Jess, she can be quite sweet but like all cats does have an evil streak!

She didn't seem to be in a very playful mood tonight, she was happy for us to play with her toys but all she could manage after her supper was a one paw effort before retiring to bed!

Crosby Garrett - a great place for ducks.

Our visit to see Jean in Cumbria had been arranged for about a week. We had been warned that the weather might be a little wet but we didn't quite expect so much rain to fall in one day!!
It started off not too bad on the M6 except for the fact that we had to go in the polo as Edward's car is in (dry) dock -

but then the further north we went the heavier the rain became -

visibility reduced considerably -

and then over the moors we almsot needed wellies in the car -

The sheep had water wings and the natives had webbed feet!

I think this was the feeder stream for the the road above!

I had hoped to take photos of the church but because of the weather we couldn't get near it. However there is a good view from Jean's bungalow. The church is visible over the rooftops so I just poked my head out through the front door during the 2 minutes when it stopped raining at about 2pm.

and this was taken in the same way about 5pm.

Needless to say we left quite early and made it home safe and sound. Next time we may have to take more notice of the weather forecast, but hang on I think that is the first day this year when it has been correct!!

An afternoon stroll / jog around London

What better starting place than the eye!! Here we have the stormtroupers but whether they are guarding the eye or attacking the Houses of Parliament I'm not quite sure.

As you will see it was a grey day and what bit of sun there had been was fast setting.

This is a favourite of Anya's, I believe she spends many a happy hour infront of this roundabout. I am sure she would love to ride on it but is worried about the stares!

Believe it or not this was still middle of the afternoon on the way to the theatre.

This was Trafalger Square as I have never seen it before. I think it's a good enough photo for a Christmas card next year.

And last but not least - the London buses!!

Hairspray!!

Whilst Thomas took Edward to the football Anya kindly took me to the theatre. We went to the Shaftesbury to see the musical Hairspray. It was fantasitc, I really enjoyed it. I haven't seen the film so didn't really know what to expect, but the music was brill and the stamina of the actors left me feeling exhausted!!
Or - - - was it the fact that we had walked miles to get there!!!! As always we couldn't miss a photo opportunity so whilst Magaret and Jamie used public transport Anya and I used shanks' pony. These photos are now being edited and will appear here shortly! Meanwhile here are 2 of the theatre, at last we were almost there.

- and these 2 were taken later that night.
Oooops now where is that ghost off to at this time of night?

This was taken through the windscreen as we pulled up at trraffic lights.

Back home!!

This is what we have returned to - moles seem to have taken over the digging up of the garden, we will soon be able to throw the spade away.

and - the roof of my car was covered by a fantastic pattern at 2 am so even though i was half asleep I couldn't resist taking these last 2 photos before falling into bed.

At last - a robin - and Charlie!

Today was clean up day for the chickens which meant moving the pen and house and cleaning the whole site. All the time we worked a cheeky robin watched us. He came so close to us, we held out worms for him but i think he was more interested in the grain that seemed to be scattered everywhere. I can now see how they can be trained to eat out of your hand and I don't think it would take long for this cheeky chappie!!

And of course this is Charlie, she came to Sarah for a cuddle before bedtime!

Sunset over Parbold Hill.

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day and as I had to go to Parbold I timed my visit to coincide with sunset! To my left I had this view -

Whilst to the right I had this -

and all I had to do was lean against the car and keep clicking as the sun went further down!

I like this one taken just before the clouds took over.
