Fairy Wing Repair shop Ormskirk - revisited

I was very kindly invited back to the Fairy Wing Repair shop by Vikki who said I was welcome to take photos inside the shop. As I am only a VERY new beginner to photography I was pleased, excited, honoured but also scared stiff that none of the photos would be any good!!
It was a very hot day and the beginning of the school holidays so children and parents seemed to be in and out at a rate of knots. It is obviously a popular shop where children are made very welcome whether they want to browse or buy.
These are some of my efforts but hopefully I would like to return again when I have learned a bit more about shutter priority, dof and apertures etc!

Please don't worry about the lamp post Vikki - it is back in place now!!

Inside the shop is a maze of colour, there is something in every nook and cranny - a children's paradise.

It was quite difficult to photograph individual items, even though I had permission to move things I was frightened that I may break something and also there was no spare corner to move anything to! However I did have a try but perhaps need to think about the depth of field more next time.

This was upstairs - just as colourful as downstairs.

Back at Martin Mere

We have all heard of the teddy bear's picnic well this was the pigeon's picnic! Or were they just after the designer wellies?

Andean geese.
I think these are lovely, they seem very proud.

Hey I am here, wait for me!

The crowned crane is still very shy and hides at the back of the pen. She is awaiting her mate!

These are the new arrivals - the crested screamers.
They seemed camera shy - they will get used to us I am sure!

These next 2 are more for my benefit, I was experimenting with the camera settings. They are both taken with the shutter priority setting - one with 1/1000 sec and one with 1/60 sec. It is interesting to see how different they are. Obviously the faster shutter speed freezes the water and in the other the water is more blurred but it's not as clear unless you enlarge the pix. Well I have to show that I am learning something from all the workshops I am attending!

Moley update

New goalie for MCFC??

Sadly this is now how our garden looks, as fast as we flatten a mole hill another appears.

This is the front garden - the mole hills are all along the hedge -

and have taken over the corner where the green bin used to stand.

I'm sure they have used a ruler to line up these hills. Even after they have been flattened with the roller they reappear!

They haven't dug up the Lavatera - yet!

Some country life from Knott End

Persil washes whiter and it shows!!

Never mind I think you are great.

Braving the cold - no jimjams!

I couldn't care less

Well yes maybe you are a bit toooooo close!

Helloooooo

Around the garden

Now this moley has got to be having a laugh!!

Lavatera

Hypericum

I could not get rid of the critter on this one, he refused to fly away.

And down came the rain (again)

Enough for a blackberry and apple pie do you think?

Cistus, lovely flower but each one only lasts for about 24 hours. They are very delicate and look very much like tissue paper.
